Counseling
Academic counseling is available at the school on a drop-in basis every day Monday through Thursday between1:00pm and 4:00pm in the afternoons and between 6:00pm and 9:00pm in the evenings. On Fridays, counseling is available by appointment between 8:00 am and 4:00pm.
Our counseling staff can advise you how to complete your high school diploma or to prepare for the five tests of the GED. The GED is the equivalent to a high school diploma. In addition, we can help if you need to improve your reading and math skills in our Adult Basic Education classes.
If you are thinking about classes to help you prepare for a job, we can advise you about the many tuition free career and technical education classes that are available, for example, through our ROP Program such as Business Occupations, Auto Technology or Medical Assisting. We also can offer guidance about opportunities that are available at local community colleges and other education options.
Classes are held at various locations in the morning, afternoon and evening, so we can always find a class that is right for you. Many of our classes are on-going which means you can start right away!
We know that your situation is unique and our counselors can help you decide which classes and options are best for you. It’s never too late to come back to school. Our students range in age from eighteen to eighty.
Every year in June, we have a cap and gown graduation ceremony for our high school diploma and GED graduates. We would like to see you in the line up!
To get started in High School Diploma, GED, or Adult Basic Education classes you must first attend a “Monday New Student Orientation” held every Monday the school is in session, at either 1:30pm or 6:00pm
“Monday New Student Orientations” are held at our main office at 2065 East Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92027. These orientations last about two hours during which time you will meet with a counselor. There is no need to make an appointment. Just show up on time at the start of either the afternoon or evening orientation. There is a $40.00 registration fee to be paid in cash. If you have your old high school transcript, please bring it with you. If you do not have it, we can always request it for you. For answers to further questions, you can call the school office at (760) 739-7300.
